2024 CONCERT

The 2024 Southeastern Women in Music Symposium concert was conducted by Dr. Erin Bodnar on December 15th, 2024 at 3pm.

This concert featured the piece "History of Tomorrow" written by Dayla Spencer. This piece was commissioned by the Southeastern Women in Music Symposium using the ticket sales from 2023. "History of Tomorrow" is inspired by the founder of the Girl Scouts of America, Juliette Gordon Low.

Secure the Spotlight: Interview with Confidence and Power

Step into your power and make every interview your stage! This session, led by Elementary Music Rockstar Danielle Taylor, is all about bringing your unique strengths, skills, and voice to the table with confidence. You’ll learn how to turn tough questions into opportunities to shine, communicate your value with impact, and stand out in a way that feels authentic and unapologetically you. From body language tips to strategic storytelling, this workshop equips you to own every moment and walk away leaving a lasting impression.

(It’s not just a) Drop in the Bucket

Join Laura Verdone, a former military band musician, as she shares a unique, first-person account of the transformative period when Title IX was instated. Reflecting on her experiences in the military band, Laura provides insights into the challenges and breakthroughs women faced as the landmark legislation took effect. This session offers an intimate look at the evolving landscape of opportunity, inclusion, and gender equity within military and music settings, setting the stage for continued dialogue on equality in the arts and beyond.
